Programme 2022

30 July21:00 / Rokka village

Opening Ceremony

15€ regular, 12€ disc. - early bird

In 2021, like every year, the Opening Ceremony of Giortes Rokkas will start late in the afternoon in the Rokka square. Our last year’s events closed with the Cretan Youth Symphonic Orchestra Concert, therefore this year it is the youth of Rokka and Kera that will open the celebrations, with a musical event that will spark this year’s events. Right after that, we will be carried away by Nikos Portokaloglou in a magical concert.

Musical Concert with Nikos Portokaloglou and Stathis Drogosis

Nikos Portokaloglou, one of the greatest musicians and songwriters of Greece, sets a special program with songs picked from his discopraghy as well as new compositions.

During the difficult past winter, Nikos Portokaloglou became a great companion for all of us through his very successful tv show “MUSICAL BOX” in ERT1. Inspirer, visionary and the creator of “Musical Box”, Nikos Portokaloglou met distinguished guests, and he shared original covers of beloved songs, creating a unique live concert every single week. At the same time, he published his new song, titled “Ena kalo neo”, a duet with Rena Morphi, in lyrics and music of his own.

This summer, Nikos and the audience become one, without “tv distance”, creating intense emotional concert moments.

With him, the exceptional songwriter Stathis Drogosis.

“Carrousel” is the title of his new song, a song-ode to love that comes and goes, and the precursor song of his forthcoming disc that will be published next autumn. Andriana Drogosi participates.

The unique performer Agapi Diaggelaki, who pops out for her vocal range and her special ability to move within different musical paths, is a constant musical companion of Nikos Portokaloglou.

This grand musical company is complemented by the incomparable Vyron Tsourapis, a new songwriter and member of the “Musical Box” band, who invites us to claim everything that makes us happy, through his song “Na mporo”, Thanasis Tsakirakis who made a difference with his presence in “Musical Box” by giving the tempo with the drums and Ilias Lampropoulos who has a unique talent to combine the violin with bouzouki, trumpet and bagpipe.

The program consists of a journey in time through the whole musical path of Nikos Portokaloglou, from “Fatme” till today, with powerful new covers of his popular songs with the assistance of the talented musicians and singers of his team. More than that, the most popular and belovered songs of Stathis Drogosis will be performed, as well as some covers of old songs that have defined the artists.

On Friday, July 30, we meet Nikos Portokaloglou and Stathis Drogosis, Agapi Diaggelaki and Vyron Tsourapis at the Rokka Square at 21:00, in a musical journey in all the lengths and depths of music via songs that defined them ,without ear but will lots of passion.
